Seebensee & Seeben Waterfall

A mountain crystal, nestled in the heart of the magnificent Mieminger Kette mountain range - the Seebensee. The lake Seebensee is a sparkling turquoise gem, situated among majestic mountain peaks and surrounded by the hiking paradise of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. The Seebensee invites all hiking enthusiasts to marvel at its beauty and the brave to enjoy a cool refreshment in its crystal-clear waters.

The Seeben waterfall is the outflow of Lake Seebensee, where the water plunges into the valley from a dizzying height. Along the Seebenfall, a via ferrata leads up the rock face directly to the Seebensee. Attention, the Seebensteig is only suitable for experienced climbers!

Drachensee & Igelsee

The crystal clear Drachensee is located at an altitude of  1,910 masl and is 28 meters deep. The mountain lake is situated just above the Seebensee and below the Coburger Hütte. The Drachensee is the highest lake in the region, which is why you can expect frosty water temperatures. You can get a brief glimpse of the picturesque summer hike to Seebensee and Drachensee here, on YouTube. In summer there`s also the possibility to do a bike & hike tour.

Above the Ehrwalder Alm and at the foot of the Igelkopf, mountain sports enthusiasts will find a small but beautiful mountain lake, the Igelsee. It is located at an altitude of 1,585 meters, surrounded by meadows. Depending on the weather and the water level, the lake is visible on the route to Leutasch/Gaistal and can be reached from Ehrwalder Alm on the way to the Seebensee. Some maps show the Igelsee as Negelsee or Egelsee.
From the top station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car, the Igelseerunde is a beautiful but sometimes challenging and demanding hike. You can find more information about the tour here.

Häselgehr Waterfall

Climbing is the name of the game here. Climbing enthusiasts will enjoy the Häselgehr waterfall in both summer and winter.  Whether it's the via ferrata under the waterfall, a quick round in the climbing garden or even ice climbing in winter, there's always something to do here.

If you're not up for climbing, no problem! A visit to the waterfall is also possible without climbing and is definitely worthwhile! There's the possibility to take a lovely and easy walk to the Häselgehr waterfall and the St. Anna chapel.

Blindsee, Weissensee, Mittersee

At the foot of the Grubigstein, you'll find not one, not two, but three gorgeous lakes in one spot.
The Blindsee, the Mittersee and the Weissensee.

The 3 Lakes Hike is a great way for summer vacationers to discover all three lakes.
The Blindsee can be easily reached by car (charges apply, free with the guest card) or by mountain bike after riding down the Blindsee trail. In fact, even diving enthusiasts can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Blindsee, which is an absolute diver's paradise!

Rotlechschlucht & Waterfall

Another highlight here in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is the Rotlechschlucht gorge, which is just a short walk away.
An absolute insider tip!

The Rotlech waterfall can be admired from the viewing platform. The walk starts in Rinnen, down the valley towards Rauth. It's about 20 minutes on foot. You can find more information here.

For more demanding hikers, there`s the gorge hike, a more challenging tour, starting in the district of Rauth near Rinnen. Walking time approx. 1 hour. You'll be hiking along a circular route through the stunning Rotlech gorge and up to the impressive waterfall. Surefootedness required! You can find more information about the tour here.

Loisach & Loisach spring

The Loisach river flows for 113 km from Biberwier via Kochelsee to the Isar, meandering through Austria and Germany.
Its beautiful spring can be found in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, more precisely at the Fernpass near Biberwier.
A hike to this place is definitely worthwhile!

Auer Waterfall

With a height of 60m, the Auer waterfall is a spectacular destination.
If you're keen to visit this natural spectacle for yourself you can take a hike from Bichlbach.
